The role?
Vinova are working with a leading, Silicon Valley-backed energy technology scale-up that is building its Melbourne based team as it expands across Australia’s energy markets. This role sits close to the core optimisation and engineering functions and works directly with senior leaders, engineers and commercial stakeholders. You will provide market insight, analytical depth and commercial context that shapes how optimisation systems operate across live energy assets.
What you will be doing?
- Analyse wholesale electricity market behaviour to support optimisation and commercial strategy
- Build and maintain detailed energy market analysis using Python and large datasets
- Identify high value opportunities across batteries, renewables and trading activity
- Partner with engineers to inform forecasting, optimisation and control logic
What are we looking for?
- Strong experience analysing the NEM
- Proven background in energy market analysis, trading support or commercial analytics
- Advanced data analysis skills using Python and libraries such as pandas
- Experience working with large, complex time series energy datasets
- Strong understanding of energy market rules, pricing drivers and risk
- Experience querying databases using SQL or similar tools
